All our poodles are family pets, first and foremost, and we do not kennel our pets. Our pets are raised in the home. We do crate train our puppies in the family home.
Our poodles are registered with the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club. The puppies will be registered with CKC.
We have one or two litters per year alternating our females, Sassy and Panda. Cricket has now been spayed and remains here as a family pet to spend the rest of her life playing fetch.
We sell our puppies based purely on the home life they will receive. We like our puppies to go to good caring family homes and that may or may not include other pets and/or children. We will screen for what we perceive to be a puppy mill and/or inappropriate environment for one of our puppies, and we reserve the right to refuse to sell a pup, if we feel uncomfortable about the environment the puppy is to live in.
We have now lost four puppies, one from the 2007 litter, 2 from the 2008 litters and 1 from the 2009 litter, due to being run over by vehicles. Carolaine acres will no longer sell puppies to anyone who cannot prove they have a fenced yard and cannot demonstrate they will be able to take the utmost care of these puppies. If you have purchased a puppy from Carolaine Acres and the pup has been run over and killed, please do not contact us for another puppy, as we will not take another chance on losing another pup. It has been absolutely devastating to get calls and emails from families who have lost these poor defenceless little babies all under 2 years of age. Although accidents do happen, it is devastating for a breeder to get this kind of news when a pup is so young and has not had a chance to live life to the fullest.
All our puppies will be sold on a spay/neuter contract, unless sold as a fully registered pup.
We will only sell a fully registered pup to a parti, parti-factored and/or solid Standard poodle environment. We have spent many hours researching the Standard Poodle and only feel comfortable remaining within those guidelines.
We offer a limited guarantee on your puppy's health, but require that your new pup be seen by your vet within the first 72 hours of being in your possession to be effective.
All our pups will have all the necessary vacinations, deworming and will have their tails docked and dew claws removed. All our puppies will come with a vet health check and will be micro chipped before going to their new homes.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN YOU PURCHASE A PUPPY FROM CAROLAINE ACRES:
Your new puppy will come with his/her own puppy binder. This binder will contain:
---CD of pictures of your pup from birth to 8 weeks.
---a record of weight gain and all your puppies "firsts" dates including, when puppy opened their eyes, walked, first car ride, etc from birth to 8 weeks.
---your puppy's pedigree and pictures of the parents.
---all copies of medical history and testing results of the parents, once you provide proof of spay/neuter.
---all original documentation of the puppy's medical records.
---if applicable, forms for registering microchipping, any applicable CKC forms, and any other pertinent information.
---basic training and grooming tips for new owners not familiar with puppies and/or poodles in general.
A puppy will come with a two day supply of their current diet, a blanket and toy with the litter smells to help puppy adjust to his new home, and a collar and leash.
As we will always be available to support you and your puppy throughout his/her lifetime. We in turn, would ask you to support us with copies of all your pet's accomplishments in agility, show ring, field trials, etc., as a courtesy.
We also ask that you keep us informed on the health of your pup, personalities and any other information that would help us in our breeding program.
